Overview

[11C]Cimbi-36-5 is a positron emission tomography (PET) radioligand that is used for imaging serotonin 2A (5-HT2A) receptors in the human brain. It is a carbon-11 labeled version of Cimbi-36, which is a selective 5-HT2A receptor agonist. This radiotracer is specifically designed for brain imaging and quantification of 5-HT2A receptors. 5-HT2A receptors are widely distributed in the cerebral cortex and have been linked to neuropsychiatric disorders such as depression. Dosimetry studies have been conducted to determine the radiation exposure associated with this radiotracer, providing information important for its safety profile in human use.
